Tuition and Program Fee
Tuition:
The normal load is three courses. If you have special circumstances that
necessitate your taking two or four courses, you must seek prior
approval from the program co-directors.
Assume that you will take X credit hours in SSP-2008 (X equals 8 or
9 or 10 normally).
If you are a Georgia resident, your tuition amount is ($163 or $171 or
$188) times X
(the tuition rate varies according to the year you started at
Georgia Tech).
If you are a non-resident, your tuition amount is ($163 or $171 or
$188) times X plus $250.
Deadline for Tuition Payment:
You will pay tuition to the
Bursars Office.
Please pay attention to the tuition payment
calendar.
Program Fee:
In addition to the tuition, there is a program fee of $3,395 for all
participating students. The Shanghai Summer Program fee covers:
- Double occupancy lodging at the
SJTU Faculty Club on campus
(single occupancy must add $1,275).

Insurance (medical, evacuation, and repatriation)
provided by T.W. Lord & Associates
- Complimentary non-credit courses in Chinese Martial Arts,
Chinese Cooking, Tai Chi, and Weiqi (Go Game)
(students will be responsible for the registration fee and the
cost of materials & supplies)
- Field trips:
- Banquet dinners: opening ceremony; July 4th; closing ceremony
- Weekly Monday lunches with students and faculty.
- 1.5 hours of basic Chinese language training
- 1.5 hours of basic Chinese culture and customs training
- Airport pick up on Saturday May 17, 2008 and the morning of
Sunday May 18, 2008.
- Program T-shirt.
- Access to public computer labs/internet,
library, and sports facilities on campus.
- Other organized program activities.
Program Fee payment method and due date
Program Fee Due Dates:
February 15, 2008: $250 deposit due with application.
March 7, 2008: $1,500 of the program fee is due.
April 11, 2008: the remaining $3,395-$1,500-$250 deposit = $1,645 is due.
Program Fee Payment:
For deposit only, please make your check payable to Georgia Tech, and
submit to the Office of International Education at the time you apply.
Program fee payments should be made through OSCAR.
You are encouraged to make a one-time payment of $3,395-$250 deposit
=$3,145 by March 7, 2008.
Refund Policy
If you wish to withdraw from the program, you must file a signed
cancellation form with OIE. Withdrawals requested on or before March
31st, 2008 will be eligible to receive up to 60% refund of the
program fees paid or due up to that date (not including
non-refundable deposit). After March 31st, 2008, there will be no
refund and you will be liable for 100% of the program fee associated
with the GT-Shanghai Summer Program (except for tuition, which is
refundable as specified in the Summer OSCAR).
