Lecture Courses
Remarks
- All courses are offered on the letter-grade basis
(not pass/fail).
- All classes are taught in English.
- There are no parallel sessions except that CHIN 1001 and CHIN 1002
are taught concurrently .
- Classes will begin on May 19, 2008; the last
day of classes is July 17, 2008. Final exams will be held
during July 18-19, 2008.
- HTS 2061 will meet during a 5-week period.
- CHIN 1001, CHIN 1002, CHIN 4813, and HTS 2061 have field trips.
- Class attendance is required and accounts for at least 10% of
your grade.
- CHIN 1001, CHIN 1002, and MATH 2403 are 4 credit hour courses.
All other courses are 3 credit hours.
- The normal course load is 9 (3+3+3) or 10 (3+3+4) or 11
(4+3+4) credit hours. Those students taking the MATH 2403
+ CHIN 1001/CHIN 1002 combination are allowed to take 8 (4+4)
credit hours. If a student wishes to take 12 (3+3+3+3)
credit hours, he/she must seek prior approval from the co-directors
and must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Non-Credit Cultural Courses Offered by SJTU
For those courses with registration fees, SJTU will offer certificates
to those who successfully complete the course sessions.
- Chinese Cooking.
Registration fee: 50 RMB (~$7). Cost of materials & supplies: 100 RMB (~$15).
