2008 Shanghai Summer Program, China
Travel Information
Group flight: We have made group flight arrangement with Delta
Airlines on their non-stop flights between Atlanta (ATL) and Shanghai (PVG).
The group flight price is nearly $300 lower than the airline's
internet price (published as of 1/7/2008). A limited number of
seats are available
for program students, on a first-come, first-serve basis. The
last day to sign up for the group flight is Thursday February 14, 2008
(unless the seats run out before then). Those
interested in the group flight option should complete a
reservation form, available from our Program Coordinator
Rebecca Miller.
We only consider group flight requests from those who have submitted
the $250 non-refundable
deposit with their program application. There is
not a separate deposit for the group flight; however, there is a
penalty if you cancel your group flight reservation
after February 14, 2008.
Full payment for the group flight will be
due on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, the date of the first orientation
session for the Shanghai program. Additional information about the group
flight is available; contact Rebecca Miller. You are free to make travel arrangements on your
own as well.
Visa application:
We have made arrangement with a reputable visa service in Houston
to serve your visa needs. Their web site is
visa2china.com
We will provide program participants a special
code which entitles them to the Georgia Tech group discount;
contact
Rebecca Miller.
We will also discuss visa application during the
first program-specific orientation session
on March 26, 2008.
Under normal circumstances, we do not anticipate that any
participant of the Shanghai Summer Program will be denied the Chinese
visa.
